CardClip — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2 June 2026 · Operated by CHPX · Contact: support@chpx.io
CardClip is a Chrome extension that clips web pages into Trello cards, with an optional AI-generated title, summary and label suggestions. This policy explains what data CardClip handles and why. We comply with the GDPR (EU) and LGPD (Brazil).
What we process
- Trello authorization token — obtained when you connect your Trello account. Stored locally in your browser (
chrome.storage.local) and used only to read your boards/lists/labels and create cards you ask us to create.
- Page content you choose to clip — when you click "Clip" (or use the AI summary), the current page's title, URL, your selected text and a sample of the visible text are read at that moment to build the card. We never read pages in the background.
- AI summary requests (Pro) — if you use the AI summary, the page text you are clipping plus your board's label names are sent to our backend, which forwards them to OpenAI to generate a title, summary and label suggestions. This text is processed in transit and not stored by CardClip.
- Billing data — if you subscribe to Pro, payment is handled by Stripe. We store only your Trello member id, subscription status and Stripe customer id to know whether you are Pro.
What we do NOT do
- We do not collect or sell your browsing history.
- We do not run content scripts on pages in the background — access is on-demand via
activeTab.
- We do not store the content of the pages you clip on our servers.
Third-party processors
- Trello (Atlassian) — to create cards and read your boards.
- OpenAI — to generate AI summaries (Pro only).
- Stripe — to process subscription payments.
- Vercel / Upstash — hosting and entitlement storage.
Your rights
You can disconnect Trello at any time from the CardClip options page, which removes the stored token. To delete your billing record, or to exercise any GDPR/LGPD right (access, deletion, portability), email support@chpx.io.
